For the last three days the hum has been so painful. I'll speak from the place of pain. What a sham, a mystery! See Microwave Auditory Effect, or just hearing effect if you want to know what the stance of the world health organization and IEEE are.

If you want to have a boo at what the physical neurological side effects or should I say Affects are see

Lai, H. Research on the neurological effects of nonionizing radiation at the University of Washington, Bioelectromagnetics 13:513-526; 1992.

This should help solve the mystery, but not our problem, because we know they will not get rid of the new telecom systems and I doubt that they will spend the money to fix it.

I suspect it is from the humingtons from planet RU-486. Their method of communication is in low-pitched hum sounding waves, that tends to cause a fractal explosion of fermions in the auditory complex of humans. Yes, it's also due to the pandimensional vortex generation effect that is used to great effect by the greys for travel. SO I would just ask the greys and humingtons to stop their jumps to the taos base and redirect to the bimini complex.
I live in this area, for many years have wondered what this sound is. Many people, I am slowly finding out are experiencing this very phenomena. I too hear the hum and the assorted sounds/frequencies. I couldn't begin to figure out where it comes from, being it seems to emanate from all over. It's not tinnitus, nor is is a problem with people's hearing values. The hum is quite an annoyance, as are the array of other pitches. It never stops, takes a break or anything for that matter. It's a neverending cycle of sounds that annoys/bothers people who are sensitive enough to hear it. I've had many people who say they wish they could hear it, believe me, you wouldn't. I have to turn up my t.v., stereo, anything... to keep from hearing the noises. They range from high pitches, to low vibrations, to morse code sounds, etc. I hear a variety, silmultaneously playing without a break. They appear to be saying something, but no one knows what. By this, I mean it seems like some type of coded message (a probable guess) or have hidden meaning and hopefully, someone will decode it. I wish it would cease. People of all ages hear the sounds and yes, it is most noticeable at night. Possibly due to the fact that the sounds from people driving in cars, planes, building, etc. are at a stop... This is what I can assume. So the noise factor from wherever the hum is from, can be noticeable. It is so bad that my concentration breaks, I can't sleep well, I hear a very high pitch at 15-20 min. intervals every hour (this is one of the sounds that is the most noticeable of all)... It has me agitated, upset and really, makes me quite nervous. My son and his friends hear it, my family and acquaintances. I have heard people I don't personally know discuss this. As for some people who are visiting, I've been asked if I hear the noise... To which I almost become embarrassed and say yes. I wish it would stop, I wish I had control of the sound, drown it out and make it cease... I cannot. This noise has been going on for years to which I cannot even say when I first paid close attention. (20+ years) You can say people have tinnitus, but that is clearly not the case. I questioned whether or not my son and I had it, had our hearing checked and found we are perfectly fine in that area. It clearly isn't. I seriously doubt that a very large portion of this town and surrounding areas have that many people with tinnitus. To even say that is laughable. I believe something is going on... It's not earth sounds, it's definitely being produced from somewhere intentionally or unintentionally... machinery, computer intelligence, etc. Something to that effect is my best guess. If there are laboratories or some form of a base that is producing these sounds, then they should adhere to the fact that thousands of people are hearing it and are seriously affected by it. If this is the case, then could they at least produce something that wouldn't have this effect? It is annoying, causes many people to be aflicted with headaches, tension, lack of sleep, fits of anger, nervousness, etc. I do believe the government knows about this and wouldn't be at all surprised if this is something that is being tested on areas of the world. As I know Taos isn't the only area being affliced with the hum and noises.

I live on the east coast of Virginia, 10 miles from the Chesapeake Bay on the Rappahannock River. I have heard it before. Only at night between 12 midnight to around 5am. The sound is much like a diesel engine. The first time I heard it was during the summer, it woke me up. I thought it was a Tug pushing a barge because thats what it sounded like. I didn't think much of it until a friend of mine at work who lives in Richmond mentioned something about a noise that woke him up that same night. He said it sounded like a diesel truck idling down the road. We both thought it kinda strange and I didn't think anything else about it until Wednesday night Oct. 14th. I was waken by the same sound. I was not real loud but it was persistent. On Thursday night Oct 15th I was waken again around 1am and the sound was loud. I got up and no matter what room I went in the sound was the same. I went outside and the sound was still the same. It seemed to be coming from all directions. Once again it was like a diesel engine idling in the distance with a slight fluctuation in frequency. It kept me up most of the night. I do not here it all the time. Just rarely and its like someone cuts on a switch and its there, then in the morning its gone.

I lived in another small NM town called Carlsbad. I too have heard this noise. I would complain constantly, it drove me nuts. I used too thinki I was the only one could hera it, but others in my family who lived close to otis, and Lovington said the could also hear it. I lived in that town for three years, and the noise was constant, annoying, and worse at night. I moved away in 1996, and havent been back since.

everybody is demanding some new form of right/s and it is their right to hear a hum, the hum brings pain to some a pleasure to others that love hard, loud, distaste music, the issue isn't a hum but the population of the town's sociality.

A few months ago I heard this terrible humming/high frequency noise. It lasted for about two hours and it made me feel like I was going crazy or something. I know it wasn't just me because I couldn't hear it when I put earplugs in my ears, yet I could still "feel" it. I know it wasn't the Taos Hum, because I live in Texas.. and that was the only time I heard it. And, I really hope it was the ONLY time I'll ever hear it.
At first I thought it was an idling truck, but trucks aren't THAT loud and there were no trucks outside. There were no vehicles of any type outside. I still don't know what that noise was, but I'm not sure that I want to know.
